Week-end Paradise
Posted in Great Idea, Holiday Destination, Place of Interest, Places to Visit on February 20th, 2012 by MonetteHubby and I had a beautiful and most relaxing weekend at one of our favorite places that we love to escape to every now and then – Cabarita Beach, Northern NSW.
My I-phone4S is a permanent fixture in hand as I am constantly snapping away images of anything and everything that catches my eye. So here’s my weekend. I hope you can feel the sun on your back, the breeze on your face and most of all the scent of fresh salt air.
Just over 10 kilometers of beach to walk along if your feeling energetic. If you walk the distance you’ll arrive at Kingscliffe. You can just see it on the horizon in the left side of this picture.
The main beach is patrolled in the summer months by volunteer surf lifesavers and there is a very active Nippers group who were out training on Sunday.
Can you feel the sand between your toes and the breeze on your face and body?
With the recent storms, king tides and flooding the beach has had it’s fair share of battering and has a small amount of debris washed up. Someone was extremely creative – how cool is this.
More evidence of the king tides.
Wouldn’t you just love to do this walk or run every sunrise?
If you’re a beach goer who loves, surfing, body boarding, body surfing and isn’t overly fussed on big crowds, Cabarita Beach is so worth the trip over the border into NSW. From Brisbanes’ CBD it takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.
You never know I might just semi-retire there, now there’s a thought.
